Matt Barnes is an American journalist who is working for WCMH-TV as a co-anchor of NBC4 Today since January 2016. He joined the NBC4 team in May 2010. Upon joining the station, he initially served as a sports anchor and reporter. Additionally, he has served the station for more than a decade.

Additionally, he has served the station for more than a decade. Nonetheless, he began his broadcasting career when he served NBC 4 as an intern and worked in the sports unit in the summer of 2007.

Upon graduating college, he went on to serve t WRDW-TV in Augusta as a sports anchor and a reporter. While there, he provided coverage for many sporting happenings such as the Masters’ tournament. Moreover, he voices that his largest thrill was playing Augusta National twice and shooting more than 100 both times. However, his favorite task about working on TV is the ability to tell people’s stories and recognizes that everyone has a special story to tell.

Also, he is an ardent volunteer and supporter of the Ronald McDonald House in Columbus. To boot, he serves as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio. Else, he was dubbed the Ohio 2020 Big Brother of the Year. Additionally, he talks at schools around the region such as his alma maters Indianola Elementary, Johnson Park Middle, and Bishop Hartley High.
