Mark Ockerbloom is an American Emmy-Award-winning Anchor/Reporter/Director working for Boston 25 News in Dedham, Massachusetts as an Evening News Anchor. There, he anchors the evening news at 5, 6, 10, and 11 PM. He joined the station in the month of November 2004.

Boston College High School where he studied between 1978 and 1981. After this, he went on to join Providence College where he studied between 1981 and 1985. There, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English.

Ockerbloom works for Boston 25 News serving the station as a co-anchor for the evening News at 5, 6, 10, and 11 PM. Asides from this, he works for WFTX-Fox 25 News serving the station as a News Anchor. He joined the station serving as a Sports Anchor and Reporter in November 2004 and served in this role until July 2007. Mark happens to be one of the Boston area’s most respected journalists.

He was raised in a newspaper family and has always been intrigued by current events. Mark states that he knows firsthand the type of trust viewers place in their newscasters and the passion with which journalists follow the local news. He has deep knowledge of sports and politics in the Boston area and adds keen insight to many of the stories he covers.

Some of the major stories he has had the privilege to cover include Whitey Bulger’s capture, the Pope’s visit to America, the funeral for former President George H. W. Bush, the Boston Marathon Bombings, and the Aaron Hernandez trial. Asides from this, he has covered several Patriots’ Super Bowls and Red Sox World Series. This is in addition to covering the victory parades that followed.

Prior to coming to WFXT, he anchored evening sportscasts and co-hosted a nightly sports show at NECN. Before making a return home to New England, he worked at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City. There, he was made the Oklahoma Sportscaster of the Year.

Mark began his television career working as a TV Sportscaster at WMUR-TV in Machester, New Hampshire. Away from work, he enjoys playing softball, golf, hockey, and fishing. Being an avid runner, he ran the 2002 Boston Marathon with his brother Carl which is a memory he cherishes to date.

Later in the year 2019, he captured a third Emmy for the station’s coverage of the Merrimack Valley Explosions. Ockerbloom is a proud and active supporter of NAMI, Medfield Public Schools, JDRF, and Special Olympics Massachusetts. Asides from this, he volunteers at the Pan Mass Challenge in honor of his older brother Carl, who lost his battle with cancer in 2004.
