Before finding her way to the weather Kyla began her career in TV news as a reporter and anchor.
After her transition to meteorology, Kyla made it to The Weather Channel where she worked together with a team that covered Hurricanes Sandy and Isaac and several major tornado outbreaks. Grogan also provided weather hits for other NBC properties including MSNBC.
While working at TWC Grogan had the fortune of working alongside some of the best meteorological minds in the business. She learned a great deal from them and relies on her Weather Channel training daily in forecasting. Her other stops along the way include NYC, Los Angeles, and CBS Philly.
Being an avid traveler her highlights include seeing the glaciers of Antarctica, meeting schoolchildren in Papua New Guinea, and the Moai statues of Easter Island. Those experiences gave her a deep appreciation of the incredible education that travel can be and also left her addicted to seeing new places and learning about new cultures.
She is forever planning her next adventure and feels very lucky to have seen so much of the world already. Before venturing in Tv career, Grogan sang and danced in touring companies of Broadway shows including “The Radio City Christmas Spectacular,” “Beehive” and “Starlight Express”, the one on roller skates. Kyla doesn’t sing the weather but has been known to entertain co-workers during commercial breaks.
