Pegler serves as a sports director at WMBD-TV based in Peoria, Illinois. He joined this station for the first time as a college intern and was officially hired three years later as a full-time reporter. Since he joined WMBD-TV, he has enclosed several stories and major sports events including the NCAA Final Four, Major League Baseball postseason, LPGA Tour events, and PGA. He also included the NHL games, NASCAR races, NBA, and NFL. Moreover, he also covered college sports events, local prep, and professional athletes in central Illinois.
Since 1993, he has been a finalist by the Illinois Broadcasters Association for the best downstate sportscast award.
