Before coming to WVTM13, Kari worked as a sports director at KERO-TV in Bakersfield, California. While there she was nominated for an Emmy and won a regional Edward R. Murrow for a story on a local athlete making a triumphant return to cross country after a near-fatal accident. She also had the opportunity to sit down with seven prominent head coaches and lead a raw discussion on race and its impact on the local community.

Before heading to Bakersfield, Osep worked for WJAC in State College, as a sports reporter where she covered everything from Penn State athletics to minor league ball to a vast array of high school sports. While there she also covered the Big Ten Championships, Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl, and multiple NCAA Tournament runs.

Kari is kind of following a theme in her career from Central Pennsylvania to the Central Valley of California to now Central Alabama. And she can say that she has centered that journey on the belief that sports have a great power to connect us all and is eager to share the unique sports stories that make up her newest community.
