Wade is a Morning News anchor for WVTM13. Being a two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist she previously worked at an ABC affiliate in Las Vegas. While there she covered the tragic mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip, issues related to the legalization of recreational marijuana in Nevada, the city’s booming real estate market, and education.
Carla has also worked as an anchor and reporter in Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Lexington, Kentucky. She began her career in journalism at the student newspaper and on local radio at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. She has made it a priority to give back to the community in every city she has lived in.
While in Las Vegas Wade supported STEAM Education with the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, was a founding member of the local chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists, and hosted the national convention of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. She remains involved with the Oklahoma City National Memorial. The memorial is especially close to her heart since she lost her father in the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
