Reed is a weeknight reporter for “WBAL-TV 11 News at 10 on WBAL Plus” and on “WBAL-TV 11 News Tonight.” She joined the station in July 2010 as a general assignment reporter. Later she started anchoring weekend evening newscasts in 2014. She then worked as a weeknight co-anchor for WBAL-TV 11 News at 4 p.m. which was debuted in September 2022. Before joining the station, she worked in Milwaukee, WISN-TV which is a WBAL-TV’s sister-station.
While at WISN-TV, Kai worked as a co-anchor for the weekend evening newscast and also reported during the week’s newscasts. Before joining WISN in August 2004 she worked as news anchor for the weekend evening news in Madison, Wis., at WKOW-TV. She also worked for television stations in Rockford, Ill., and Columbia, Mo as an anchor and reporter.
Reed has also served news production roles at WLS-TV and WBBM-TV in Chicago, and at the London Bureau of NBC News. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and is always actively involved in the community. She has served as a keynote speaker and emcee for several organizations, including the Boys & Girls Club.
