Justin was nominated for an Emmy Award for his weather story “Megacryometeor.” It was about a massive chunk of ice that fell out of the sky and through a local resident’s ceiling, causing thousands in damage. That story followed the journey of that family and the process of the local university that tried to figure out where something like that came from.
Esterly was also voted in as one of the “Best of the Chippewa Valley: Meteorologist” in a local magazine reader poll. During his free time, he loves hunting and golfing. He is also a collegiate and minor professional ice hockey official.
