Prior to working at WCBS-TV, he worked at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, California where he served as a reporter and Morning Weather Host from June 2004 to December 2006. He had previously spent some time working at NBC News and MSNBC where he served as a weekday morning weathercaster on “Early Today.”
Moreover, he also served as a correspondent and anchor on MSNBC during the 2004 presidential campaign correspondent in Iowa. John also covered several stories including the nation as troops were deployed for the war in Iraq as well as spent time onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Prior to working at NBC, he worked as the morning news anchor at XETV-TV in San Diego. He previously worked at KGET-TV, the NBC affiliate in Bakersfield, California where he served as a morning news anchor. He kickstarted his weathercasting career working at WRBL-TV, the CBS affiliate in Columbus, Georgia, and later on worked at KGET-TV. Since starting his journalism career, he has won several awards including the California Associated Press award. He was also honored for his general assignment reporting as well as news features.
