Before joining the station, she worked for WBND ABC 57 in South Bend, Indiana as a Multimedia Journalist for 2 and a half years. There she spent her 1st year serving as a one-woman band reporter and anchored weekend newscasts for a couple of months. She has been passionate about storytelling since she was young. She used to sing, act, and talk in plays and musicals when she was 5 years old, and in college. Arnold’s love for journalism rose while in college, where she found the power of a story to create change. It was there that she made a decision to use her skills to make a difference in people’s life.
Arnold’s most impactful experience gave her a chance to go to Greece with an international reporting class senior year. Roughly ten students spent 5 days on Lesbos island, where they examined the families caught up in the refugee crisis. After that, Arnold put together an in-depth report about the Iraqi, Iranian, and Syrian women who left everything behind to save their loved ones. Arnold has been responsible for producing a half-minute magazine-style documentary about the crisis of refugees. The regional Society of Professional Journalists honored the documentary with a First Place Mark of Excellence Award and a Regional Mid-Atlantic College Emmy Award.
After graduating from college, she went to work for WBND-TV. It was there that she began “Real Michiana,” her own weekly series, where she would tell the untold stories of individuals in the community who are doing great things under the radar. It was through the series that she did carpool karaoke with a reverend turned Uber driver. She was also able to discover the homeless painter and met a disabled and blind man whose life was saved through taekwondo. During her leisure, she likes to sing in her apartment and have her fav meals at the plethora of incredible restaurants and bars.
