While still at The University of Oklahoma, he was active in several activities and societies including the Geography and Environmental Sustainability Club and the School of Meteorology Peer Mentor (SoM). He was also a member of the OU Student Chapter AMS Member (OUSCAMS), AMS Student Member, NWA Student Member, and National Weather Center Tour Representative.
While still in college, he worked as an undergraduate research assistant at The Cooperative for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies from August 2011 to September 2013. Previously, from January 2013 to June 2013, he worked and interned at KOCO-TV News where he served as a broadcast meteorologist. He had previously spent 1 year and 5 months working at Oklahoma City Community College where he served as a laboratory Assistant and Physical, Geology, and Chemistry Tutor as well as supplemental instructor in mathematics. Previously, from June 2009 to August 2009, he worked at Drewry Broadcasting Group where he served as a broadcast Meteorologist and intern based in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Since he started his journalism career, he has covered a ton of extreme weather events including floods, tornadoes, thunderstorms, hurricanes, and so much more.
