Stanton is the Chief Medical Contributor for FOX 56. He began his career in media as the radio narrator for a broadcast in Johnson City, Tennessee at the age of 14 years. While in college he worked as a board operator, host, and producer for WETS-FM NPR at East Tennessee State University.
Ryan was a production assistant for WJHL-TV in Johnson City between college and medical school. While in medical school and residency, Stanton continued to produce a film music program and eventually, a medical “What’s Going Around” segment for the NPR station.
Being a physician, Ryan was an intern under Dr. Timothy Johnson with the ABC News Medical Unit in Needham, Massachusetts. Ever since, he has hosted “What’s Going Around”, “Tools of the Trade”, and most recently, “The Doc Is In”.
Stanton is still a full-time emergency physician in Lexington, on the board of directors of the American College of Emergency Physicians, a national spokesperson, an EMS medical director in Lexington, and the medical director for GMR Motorsports including NASCAR.
