Brooks is a State Capitol Reporter for FOX 56. He covers the Kentucky Capitol. He began his first job in the news when he was 16 years old where he covered local news for his hometown’s country music station, WZQZ in Summerville, Georgia.
After leaving his hometown for college, Bode interned and later worked as a weekend anchor during his senior year at Atlanta’s #1 radio station WSB. While studying at the University of West Georgia Brooks worked as news director of both his college radio and television stations and hosted his own radio talk show, “The Power Hour.“ He was also active in student government and his fraternity, Tau Kappa Epsilon.
After graduating Brooks started his first television job in May 2019 working at KTVE as a weekday morning anchor in Monroe, Louisiana. Afterward, he was promoted to serve as a weekday evening anchor. His coverage contributed to KTVE being recognized as “Best Small Market Newscast” by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters.
While working at KTVE, some of the major stories Bode covered include The investigation into the death of Ronald Greene in Louisiana State Police custody, The sudden death of Monroe’s Congressman-Elect Luke Letlow from COVID-19, and The first visit to Monroe by a sitting president in more than 3 decades. During his free time, you may spot Bode out at any local park with his schnauzer, Roosevelt.
