Witt serves at WTVG Channel 13 as a weekend evening meteorologist. He is elated to work with the 13abc First Warning Weather Team. Witt has been passionate about the weather since he was young. He used to watch snowstorms, the 1996 film Twister, and thunderstorms, and that was what intrigued his interest in the weather. Witt witnessed the havoc brought by the 2010 Lake Township Tornado, which was only a few miles from the family farm. This was actually what made Smith decide to pursue a meteorology career.
While in college, he served at LanternTV and BuckeyeTV, the campus TV stations, as an on-air meteorologist. Also, he worked as an intern at WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio, and 13abc WTVG-TV. After college, he went to work for AccuWeather in State College, Pennsylvania as a meteorologist. There he provided live weather forecasts on radio stations from coast to coast, such as at WCBS 880 in New York City, as well as forecasted all kinds of weather across North America.
When coming to Smith’s education, he is a grad of The Ohio State University. He graduated from the university in the year 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Sciences.
