Fowle serves WAGA as an investigative reporter. She joined the FOX 5 Atlanta News team in December 1995. Upon joining she initially served as a general assignment reporter. In the wake of serving as an investigative reporter, she aided Georgia’s child-welfare system and changed state child-care laws.
Subsequent to uncovering a 5-year-old Terrell Peterson who was tortured and macerated while in foster care, she gained the prestigious Green Eyeshade award from the Society of Professional Journalists. Eventually, her investigation aided in the reorganization of top management at the Department of Family and Children’s Services.
Prior to serving WAGA, she served in Chicago at WMAQ-TV as a reporter. Further, she served in Chicago CLTV-TV as an anchor and a reporter. Also, she served in Lynchburg, Virginia as a weekend anchor and a reporter.
Nonetheless, she debuted her career in Richmond, Virginia radio. Moreover, she has broadcasted a broad span of stories. Succeeding the September 11th terrorist attacks, she reported live from Ground Zero. Throughout the bomb of Yugoslavia, she put in reports from a military refill plane over the Adriatic Sea.
While serving as a consumer investigator, she has halted fishy businesses and con men who have defrauded thousands of dollars from naive people. Additionally, , she gained an Associated Press Award for Best Investigative Reporting after uncovering a local modeling agent who took the trust and money from would-be models and actors.
Moreover, she served alongside refugees and taught them how to adapt to US culture. To boot, she secured the volunteer of the year award from Catholic Social Services. In 2008, she got the Atlanta Press Club’s TV Journalist of the Year award. When she’s not working she loves traveling and has hiked the Inca trail in Peru. And, she has traveled much of Western and Eastern Europe.
