Before joining the station he worked in Youngstown, Ohio where he spent his junior and senior years of college working as a multimedia journalist for WFMJ 21 News.
Connor career in broadcast journalism started in public radio with WKSU-FM. He spent about a year working as an on-air and digital reporter for the Northeast Ohio NPR-member station. He has also held various roles with Kent State’s student-run television station TV2: anchoring, reporting, executive-producing, and serving as news director.
Steffen has received recognition from the College Media Association, the Knight Foundation, and the Kent State Division of Equity and Inclusion for his reporting. He’s also the recipient of an ACP Individual Award from the Associated Collegiate Press, two Hearst Journalism Awards, and three Mark of Excellence awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. During his free time, he is looking forward to exploring all that Kentuckiana has to offer from first-rate food joints to all 41 stops along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
