Arangio was born and raised in the USA by her father who worked in the USA Army and her late mother. Her mother died in July 2022 at the age of 80 from a terminal form of leukemia which she battled for quite some time. She left behind 5 grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha, Megan, Tommy, and Luke. She was honored at the State Capitol in Albany as a 2008 NY State Senate Woman of Distinction. Christina’s parents were married for almost 58 years before Christina’s mother’s death. Growing up, she was raised alongside her sister whose names are not known by the public.

In 1989, she joined Ithaca College where she attained her Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism in 1993. Arangio serves as a morning and noon anchor at WTEN-TV based in Albany, New York. During her tenure at WTEN-TV, she anchored the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster in Central Florida. She also anchored the devastating aftermath of hurricanes and tornadoes as well as President Obama’s visit to Schenectady. Christina also covered the visit of Pope Francis to New York City. Prior to working at WTEN-TV based in Orlando, Florida where she served as a reporter and anchor from 2000 to 2007.
Previously, from 1997 to 2000, she worked at WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she served as an anchor and reporter. Since she started her journalism career, she has won several awards including a regional Edward R. Murrow award for covering “Havoc on the Hudson.” She was also nominated for a New York State Emmy nomination. She is also an active advocate for people living with Down Syndrome as well as brain tumor research.
