During her tenure at WBCS, she created her own investigative documentary named 37% which unmasked the bad dysfunction of a school district on Long Island. Prior to working at WCBS, she worked at FOX 5 /WNYW-TV where she served as an on-air news reporter from May 2009 to Jnauary 2012. She had previously spent 15 years working at WNBC where she served as a weekend anchor and Long Island Bureau Chief Reporter.

During her tenure at WNBC, she also served as the co-anchor of “Weekend Today in New York” which was aired on Saturday and Sunday. Previously, from 1987 to 1993, she worked at NEWS 12 Long Island where she served as a news reporter. While still working at News 12, she covered the Tankleff murders, the kidnapping of Katie Beers, and the Amy Fisher/Joey Buttafuoco scandal. She previously worked at WEVU-TV in Florida where she served as a news reporter from 1985 to 1987.

Since she started her journalism career, she has reported a lot of major events and stories including the terror attacks of 9-11. She also reported on the massive power outages and the massacre on the Long Island Railroad. Moreover, she also reported on Hurricane Sandy the Blizzard of ’96, American Airlines Flight 587), and TWA Flight 800. She is also the author of her own book, Buried Memories: Katie Beers’ Story which she wrote in collaboration with Katie Beers, a kidnapping victim.

Carolyn has won several awards and honors including 17 New York Emmy nominations and four New York Emmy Awards. She also received a New York Emmy Award for General Assignment Reporting/ On-Camera Performance for the Mepham Hazing Scandal. Gusoff won scores of Long Island Fair Media Council FOLIO Awards in more than 30 years of her journalism career. She is also very active when it comes to helping around her community.
