Ben Pine is an American Meteorologist/Anchor working for WHAS11 in Louisville, Kentucky, in the United States as a chief meteorologist. He joined the station in May 2008. Before joining the station he worked as a morning meteorologist for WAGT-TV in Augusta, Georgia.

Ben Pine Career
Pine is the Chief Meteorologist for WHAS-TV First Alert Storm Team at 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. & 11:00 p.m. Night Team newscasts. He says WHAS-TV has a history of hard-working, professional, and memorable Chief Meteorologists, and his hope is to continue that tradition. His interest in television occurred in 5th grade when a certain St. Louis weatherman put him on the noon news for winning a weather drawing contest.
Ben says he drew a tornado and won, but his happiness turned to tears when he found out he had to go on live TV in front of his whole school. He had no idea then, that 11 years later he would be a member of the Ball State University Storm Chase Team, chasing real live tornadoes tearing through the Great Plains. Later after conquering a fear of speaking in front of large audiences, he is now proud to have the responsibility of telling people to take cover when severe weather and tornadoes come to town.
Pine began his tour de television (thankfully before YouTube) on WCRH-TV in Muncie, Indiana at Ball State University. For the first professional gig, he and his wife Sarah were off to Peoria, Illinois for a stint in radio and forecasting for professional golf tournaments with Mobile Weather Team, INC. He then went to work at KRCG-TV in Jefferson City, Missouri, for a year and then three years at WAGT-TV in Augusta, Georgia as the morning meteorologist.
During his free time, he enjoys spending time doing anything outdoors with his wife and two children, and of course, playing golf. Pine especially loves watching his son Brady and daughter Hannah play baseball and softball, and helping coach when the weather is nice. In 2007 he won the AP award in Georgia for “Best Weather Reporting”.
