Since he started his journalism career, he has covered several stories including the riots that broke out after the peaceful Black Lives Matter protest that happened downtown.
He covered the University of Nevada, Reno’s Argenta Hall explosion, and the impact of coronavirus all across Northern Nevada. Abel also enclosed several wildfires that destroyed the homes of hundreds of families. Garcia is skilled in community engagement, bilingual fluent in both English and Spanish, public speaking, as well as video editing. He has also won several awards and honors including an Emmy Award and the Media Partner Champion award by Latin Chamber of Commerce NV.
