Llorico serves at WUSA Channel 9 as a morning news reporter on “Get Up DC!” Before joining the station, she worked for KSDK-TV in St. Louis, Missouri as a news reporter for “On Your Side!” for about half a decade. There she combined her passion for storytelling and food and hosted “Abby Eats St. Louis,” the award-winning podcast. Before that, she worked for WCIA-TV in Illinois as a news anchor and reporter for 2 years. She has worked for WISH-TV in Indianapolis as a multimedia journalist.
Llorico was listed in St. Louis’s “30 Under 30” list and has been recognized by the Missouri and Illinois Broadcasters Associations. She also holds Edward R. Murrow Awards and has been nominated for a number of Mid-America Emmy Awards. Her first on-air job was at CBS in Washington, D.C. where she interned as a production associate. At the time, she was still in college.
During her leisure, she likes being active in the community. While in St.Louis, she volunteered and was actively involved in a variety of charitable organizations. She founded “GIRLS GO FOR IT,” a program for young girls aimed at setting goals, combatting bullying, and building confidence. Also, she loves trying new restaurants, spending time with her dogs (Mia and Roni), and exploring the outdoors (directionally-challenged explorer) in her free time. She is also an aspiring art nerd. In the realm of restaurants, she is always open to restaurant recommendations while working to eat her way through the DMV, too.
