Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, he was fortunate to have Tom Skilling from WGN as a constant presence throughout his formative years. Skilling’s reassuring demeanor played a pivotal role in helping him overcome his fear of severe weather. However, this childhood aspiration was temporarily set aside as he embarked on a career in broadcast journalism, which ultimately led him to Columbia.
Upon his arrival, he engaged in various roles such as reporter, anchor, and news producer at KOMU 8. Nevertheless, a profound desire to chase his childhood dream rekindled, prompting him to take a significant leap of faith by applying to graduate school. Looking back, that leap of faith remains the most monumental decision of his life. Beyond his meteorological pursuits, he finds solace in watching baseball, passionately supporting the Cubs. He also enjoys writing about college football, whipping up culinary delights for his friends, and enthusiastically attending as many Mizzou football and basketball games as his schedule allows.
