Zak Dahlheimer Education
Zak graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication and an outside concentration in Political Science from the University of Florida. While at UF, he anchored and reported for WUFT News, the PBS and NPR stations serving North Central Florida. In December 2022, he graduated with a master’s degree in Journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri.

Dahlheimer Anchor and reporter working for WTKR. He worked as a reporter for WNCN in Raleigh, North Carolina before moving to Virginia in March 2020. He reported on stories all around the State, including Dorian and the 2020 primary election and Hurricanes Florence. additionally, he reported on assignment in Virginia Beach following the 2019 mass shooting at the city’s municipal center, and in the Florida Panhandle covering the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.
Additionally, Zak worked as an anchor and investigative reporter at KESQ-TV and CBS Local 2 in Palm Springs, California. While in the Coachella Valley, Zak reported on wildfires, earthquakes, and high-profile court cases, including the 2016 deadly Palm Springs tour bus crash, California legalizing recreational marijuana use, the Pinyon Pines triple murder trial and Turpin child abuse case, and the 2016 and 2018 elections.
He spent time in his home state of Florida working as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WJHG-TV and WECP-TV, the NBC and CBS affiliates in Panama City Beach before moving out west. Zak has earned a regional Emmy nomination, as well as numerous awards from the Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters, Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas (RTDNAC), Florida Associated Press Broadcasters Association, and National Broadcasting Society. During his free time, he loves playing guitar, traveling, and cheering on the Florida Gators!
