Grayson, a lifelong Mississippian, began his broadcasting journey in Greenville, where he kickstarted his career at a local radio station while still in high school. After relocating to Jackson post-graduation, he ventured into various radio gigs before transitioning to television in 1984. Initially serving as a weather anchor and feature reporter for WLBT, Grayson eventually returned to his roots at WJTV-12, where he had initially started his TV career as a part-time weekend weatherman while simultaneously working full-time at Jackson’s WSLI radio.
Beyond his television roles, Grayson has been a fixture as the host of Mississippi Public Broadcasting’s well-received program, “Mississippi Roads.” Grayson expresses gratitude for his journey and acknowledges the opportunities for new adventures that WJTV has provided him, contrasting with the retirement of many of his former colleagues. His move to WJTV has allowed him to delve into new territories, adding depth to his career.
Grayson’s contributions extend beyond broadcasting. He has authored four books chronicling his travels across Mississippi and regularly contributes a column to the Electric Coops of Mississippi’s newspaper.
