Tom Hillen works for WOOD TV8 as a news anchor and a traffic reporter. His initial responsibility at the station was working behind the scenes as a photojournalist and editor for “Weekend Daybreak.” Later, his talents took in front of the camera.

He started reporting for “Weekend Daybreak” and then for “News 8 Daybreak” during the week. For 2 years, he worked as a reporter for Daybreak before relocating to reporting for “News 8 at 11.” An avid Michigan State fan, he broadcasted the Spartans in the NCAA basketball tournament.

Further, he broadcasted the Detroit Tigers in the World Series and the 2013 Big Ten Football Championship. Hillen reported from Florida when Tropical Storm Debby hit. He enjoys traveling and has journeyed to all 50 states in the nation.
