Haynes serves WAGA as an anchor of FOX 5 News at 5 p.m. and News Edge at 11 p.m. He joined the FOX 5 Atlanta News team in December 2007. Prior to serving WAGA, he served the FOX affiliate in Miami, Florida at WSVN-TV as an anchor and a reporter. To boot, he serves Kennesaw State University and the University of West Georgia under contract as a guest lecturer.
While serving as an anchor and a reporter, he has broadcasted a wide span of stories. In his quarter century at WAGA, he played an important role in broadcasting major elections, field anchored from storm-devastated parts of the state, throughout the fiery crash of I-85.
Additionally, he anchored live from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland where a gunman carried out the worst school shooting in U.S. history. Also, he traveled to interview significant TV personalities like Judge Judy, Sean Hannity, and Bill O’Reilly.
Moreover, he served CNN as an anchor and a reporter. In his tenure at CNN, he was on-screen through the after-effects of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Additionally, he broadcasted the U.S.-piloted assault in Iraq and Afghanistan.
