Roesgen works for WGNO-TV as an anchor and reporter. She became the co-host of “National Geographic Today,” a news after several years in local television and in 2001 cultural affairs television program broadcast internationally from National Geographic headquarters in Washington, D.C. In 2002 she went back and joined the public radio station WWNO and worked for NPR’s “All Things Considered,” “Morning Edition,” and other NPR programs as a freelance reporter.
Roesgen coverage of stories for CNN included “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” daily live shots for “Anderson Cooper 360,” daily live shots for “Anderson Cooper 360,” and all other CNN programs. Her stories included the death of Michael Jackson in Los Angeles– plus multiple hurricanes, the impeachment of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, and the raid on a polygamist sect in Texas, snowstorms, tornadoes, and floods.
She began working for WGNO-TV in 2003 as a part-time reporter and anchor. During Hurricane Katrina, she reported for WGNO and NPR which led CNN to employ her as the first Correspondent for the network’s Gulf Coast Bureau, which debuted in New Orleans in 2005. She became a CNN Correspondent based in Chicago in 2007 after two years of covering the recovery effort along the Gulf.
She left CNN in 2009 and attended Loyola University in New Orleans to pursue a Master’s degree in counseling. Roesgen was named co-host of the 5, 6, and 10 pm broadcasts in 2020. She started working for WGNO as a part-time anchor and reporter. She volunteers as an English teacher for the local immigrant community and is also a certified teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL).
