Upon joining the station in 2016, she initially served as a 4 p.m. anchor of ABC4 News. From 2016 to 2021, she served as the station’s health and medical correspondent. During her quarter-century as a health and medical correspondent, she shared her devotion to health and medicine and left an enduring impression and reminder to always “be your own advocate.”
Prior to this, she served in Washington, D.C. at WUSA9 (CBS) as a substitute anchor and reporter. Further, she served in Kansas City, Missouri at KCTV5 as a weekend morning anchor and a reporter. Also, she served n Lynchburg, Virginia at WSET-TV (ABC) as a weekend anchor and a reporter. While there, she secured an Edward R. Murrow award for her broadcast and half-hour on Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
To boot, she gained an Associated Press award for ‘Best Documentary.’ Additionally, she enjoys traveling and taking her children back to her hometown. Also, she loves adventures such as kid-friendly hikes, staycations, and discovering hidden gems. Apart from TV, she spends her time discovering new, local restaurants, brands, and products with her best friend. In 2010, Chinn lost her 19-week pregnancy as a result of late-term miscarriages. She underwent a procedure for late-term miscarriages(D & E.)

At the very same moment, my sister was giving birth to my beautiful niece who celebrates turning 12 today. Tragedy and birth all in one moment.
