Pinatubo in the Philippines, the unusual, orange lightning that was a product of the volcano, the excitement of a typhoon that made landfall as the volcano erupted, and the relentless earthquakes that she and her family endured for days it was simply her love for flying that intrigued her to pursue a career in weather. By obtaining her private pilot’s license, she realized just how important accurate forecasts are, convincing her to learn as much as she could about science.
Stephanie holds the American Meteorological Society’s Television Seal of Approval. Before joining the station she worked for two years for Florida’s Newschannel where she worked as a meteorologist. Before that Walker worked at WYOU in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pa as a meteorologist.
During her free time, she enjoys going to area schools, businesses, and organizations to recognize their dedication and hard work by featuring them in her Weather Welcome. She also loves the beautiful beaches in the Florida panhandle.
