Fogarty kick-started her career after her graduation from college. This was after learning her trade. She was working as a BBC trainee at Radio Guernsey, Radio Sheffield, Radio Humberside, Radio Merseyside, and Radio Bristol. Later on, in April of 2011, she took over from Gabby Logan on the lunchtime show. There, she was covering sports, interviews, and news. Every day, there was a special feature story.
In the show, on Mondays, they brought a special feature to the sports team. On Tuesdays, they brought a special feature on Sports. On Wednesdays, they were broadcasting from Westminster where she was joined by political correspondent John Pienaar, a guest journalist and three members of Parliament. During the show, they were covering Prime Minister’s Questions. On Thursdays, they included Martin Lewis on the consumer desk. Later on, on Fridays, Five Life looked at work and lifestyle.
January of 2008 saw her being gun pointed at her film crew which was while filming a report for ITV’s Tonight with Trevor McDonald. This was while she was in Croxteth. Then, she has been asked to return to the area to see how safe she felt walking around after dark. January of 2010 saw her join the presenting team of The Daily Politics, where she was co-hosting the show on Thursdays with Andrew Neil.
March of 2010 saw her swim a mile in The Serpentine in Hyde Park for Sport Relief 2010. July of 2014 later saw her announce that she would be leaving 5 Live in order to explore other opportunities. Her final programme was broadcast on the 3rd of September.
While working as a guest presenter with the LBC team, in December 2014, it was announced that Fogarty would join the station in order to present its 1:00-4:00 pm weekday slot. She is a proud Sony Silver Award winner an award she received in the year 2007. She received the award for the 5 Live Breakfast programme as Best News and Current Affairs Programme with Nicky Campbell.
