Shayne came back to sports to lead the department as WPBF 25 focuses on celebrating local teams and athletes in our community. Before switching to the news he was a sports director. Shayne has won several awards as a sports journalist, including an AP award for “Best Sportscast.” He also won the Georgia Association of Broadcasting award for “Best Sports Feature Story.”
Shayne has served as a volunteer, guest speaker, and emcee, for countless community events. He has an unwavering passion for children and has spent time with dozens of organizations geared toward uplifting youths. Wright was presented with the “Hero of the Heart” Award for his Community Service by the nonprofit organization G.E.Y.A. (Giving Education Your All) in 2017. During his free time, he enjoys the South Florida sun and any activities that keep him outdoors.
