Her biological mother is German and she no longer took part in her life, and her biological father is Nigerian and he returned to Africa. Baderinwa was left in the hands of a family friend. While raising Baderinwa, Edie House also had additional support from her parents.
When Baderinwa was 12 years old, her biological mom ultimately went back for her to live with her family in nearby Montgomery County. Since then Baderinwa has continued to maintain contact with her adoptive family and biological parents.

Baderinwa serves at WABC as a news anchor for Eyewitness News at 5 PM and 11 PM. She began as a news reporter and noon anchor for Eyewitness News at the station. Before joining the statin, she worked for WBAL-TV in Baltimore, Maryland as a morning and noon news anchor. Also, she served as a host of a weekly community affairs show.
Baderinwa has served at WSLS-TV in Roanoke, Virginia as a news reporter, and at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C. as a reporter trainee. She has also worked as a production assistant for Nightline, ABC News NewsOne, ABC News’s This Week with David Brinkley, and World News Tonight.

Baderinwa was struck by a vehicle on July 23, 2004, while reporting on floods in Hackensack, New Jersey. She fell unconscious for 20 mins. To date, the driver was never identified. Despite having a knee replacement and breaking her arm, she says that she feels no anger and that she feels lucky to be alive after a couple of months of painful rehabilitation. In the year 2005, she explained that she survived because the flooded street broke the fall and one of the cameramen held her head above the water.
After the accident, Baderinwa championed efforts to handle the growing problem of hit-and-run accidents. She was awarded the NJ Governor’s Representative Award for Traffic Safety, for her efforts.
