Luterman is a Meteorologist at FOX 2 Detroit in Michigan. He serves the station as a chief Meteorologist. Luterman forecasts the weather every weeknight during the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts. In 1994, he earned the American Meteorological Society (AMS) Seal of Approval.
He served four-and-a-half years on active duty as a weather officer where he has commissioned a second lieutenant through the U.S. Air Force ROTC. In 1991, he was a weather detachment commander in Southwest Asia for six months during Operation Desert Storm.
During his time in the Air Force, he worked for WKTV in Utica, New York as a chief meteorologist. In addition to that, he likes being active and involved in the community by sharing his knowledge with young students who are interested in the weather. Luterman also worked with the American Diabetes Association to raise awareness after being diagnosed with diabetes in 2012. Furthermore, he works with Veterans groups across Southeast Michigan.
During his leisure time, he likes canoeing, fishing down the Huron River near Dexter, and sleeping at Bear Dunes, and Niagara Falls. In addition to that, he has an interest in The Mohawk Valley of central New York, Mount Everest, and Michigan History.
