In 2015 she enrolled at the University of the Arts London to study Cinematography and Film/Video production. In 2012 she joined New York University to further her education and graduated in 2016 with a degree in broadcast journalism and sociology.

Ashley is a reporter and fill-in anchor for WAVE 3 News. Previously before joining the station, she worked at the NBC affiliate in Rhinelander, Wisconsin as a reporter and anchor.
She was a dedicated dancer before her passion for journalism was sparked. She trained at schools such as the Harlem School of the Arts, the legendary Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, and the Broadway Dance Center for about 13 years.
Phylicia launched programs within the Academic Achievement Program while in college so that she could help minority students excel academically. She is a Shawn Carter Scholar and NYU Presidential Scholar. During her college, Ashley interned at CNN, the TODAY Show, NBC-Dateline, and Tom Brokaw Report. She was also part of the first CNBC fellowship class.
Ashley is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. Being an avid foodie she has an intense passion for traveling. During her free time, she likes watching Martin re-runs and catching up on her favorite shows such as Order SVU, This is Us and Law, Shameless, and Power. She also loves connecting with the community and is looking forward to establishing herself as a journalist in Louisville.
