Gregory is a Meteorologist working for FOX 5 News in New York. He worked as a morning meteorologist for CNN in Atlanta, Georgia before joining FOX 5 News. Additionally, he worked as a meteorologist for WTLV-Channel 12 (ABC) in Jacksonville, Florida before joining CNN. Gregory has received several honors throughout his career. He served on the “Board of Broadcast Meteorology” of the American Meteorologist Society and was Chairman of the Board in 1992. He has won the AMS Seal of Approval for Excellence in Television Weathercasting, and both the “New York Post” and the “Daily News” have rated him as New York City’s most accurate weather forecaster.
However, Gregory supports numerous causes and is active in the community, visiting schools throughout the tri-state area. Gregory has received the New York City Comptroller’s Award for exceptional community service in appreciation of this. He has been a certified pilot and flight instructor for 22 years, and he is the FOX 5 News aviation authority on any aviation story. He also flies flights for Angel Flight, a non-profit organization that provides free transportation to and from medical treatments for financially disadvantaged patients and families.
Gregory has also been broadcast on several radio stations. From 1984 to 1986, he worked as a meteorologist for WCNN Newsradio in Atlanta. In New York, he worked on WQHT Hot 97’s morning show from 1988 to 1993, then on WLTW 106.7 Lite FM’s morning show from September 1995 to December 2008. As a flying teacher, he is the chief pilot for Performance Flying, which operates a fleet of Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft. Westchester County Airport in White Plains, New York, is home to the flight school. Gregory is also an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner, which allows him to examine pilots.
