Hernandez works for WMUR Channel 9 News where she serves the station as an Evening Anchor and Reporter for the 5, 5:30, 7:30, 10, and 11 PM. She was made a co-anchor for News 9 at 5:30 and News 9 at 7:30 in the year 2021. Prior to joining the WMUR News team, she was working for WFAA in Dallas, Texas. There, she was serving the station as a fill-in anchor and reporter. It was while she was working there that she was nominated for Emmy Awards for her coverage of the homeless community. She served the station between October 2014 and November 2018
She has also worked for WWL-TV where she was serving the station as a News Reporter. Hernandez served the station as a reporter between October 2010 and October 2014. Asides from this, she has worked in Jackson, Mississippi where she was working for WLBT. There, she served the station as a Reporter/Anchor between February 2008 and September 2010.
Hernandez’s coverage of breaking news and key issues has also been recognized by the Associated Press and local organizations. Asides from this, she served WNBC between June 2007 and September 2007. There, she was serving the station as an Assignment Desk Assistant, Production Assistant, and Field Producer.
The San Diego native has also traded her flip-flops for snow boots in order to attend the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University.
