Gruber works with the CBS 8 News team where he serves the station as a Digital Director since June 2008. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the digital content and strategy across all digital platforms. Prior to joining CBS 8, he was serving on the Board of Directors for SDX in the Greater San Diego Area between June 2011 and June 2016.
He has also previously worked with The San Diego Union-Tribune where he was serving as a Digital Media Manager on SignOnSanDiego.com. He has been working with the team between January 2000 and June 2008. Gruber joined the team during the newspaper’s early expansion into digital media and later led both local and national digital teams. He was helping in recording revenue levels for the company and for the San Diego media market at that time.
Gruber has also worked with the Countrywide Home Loans team where he was serving the station as a Wholesale Account Executive /Marketing & Advertising Manager between October 1995 and January 2000. He stays involved in his community and is serving as the president of his son’s High School Foundation. This is in addition to being involved with the United Way San Diego Marketing committee.
