Mike Taylor is an American meteorologist who is working for WXYZ as a weekend meteorologist. He joined the ABC 7 Detroit team in December 2018.

Mike Taylor Education
Upon completion of his high school education, Taylor went on to join Mississippi State University in 2006. After completing his undergraduate studies in 2009, he became its alumnus with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Meteorology. From 2004 to 2006, he studied mechanical engineering at Wayne State University. Further, he aims to progress his education and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Atmospheric Sciences. Also, he holds the National Weather Association’s Seal of Approval.

Taylor serves WXYZ as a weekend meteorologist. He joined the ABC 7 Detroit team in December 2018. Prior to this, he served in Baltimore, Maryland at ABC 2 as an evening meteorologist. Further, he served the CBS affiliate in Champaign, Illinois, WCIA-TV as a weekend meteorologist. During his niche in Illinois, he served on-air when a number of tornadoes cut through the nation throughout the November 17th, 2013 Tornado Outbreak.
Moreover, he served with his chief and morning meteorologists for 4 solid hours getting the recent warnings and tornado reports to the viewers. Fortunately, there were no casualties during the outbreak in his viewing region. He credits it was due to the brave call for the weather team to cut into an NFL game. Even though he received 10 pounds of hate mail for the call, he voices he knows they made the correct decision.
Additionally, he served in Alpena, Michigan as chief meteorologist at WBKB. During his streak there, he attained a weathercaster of the year award. Nonetheless, he got his debut when he served in Detroit, Michigan at WXYZ as an intern. On a side note, he served with Chief Meteorologist Dave Rexroth. When he is not working, he loves working on his car (Volvo S60R), spending time outdoors, trying new beers, and watching movies. Else, he enjoys retro video games. And, he serves as a huge sports fan who enjoys working out and watching Basketball, Football and Baseball.
