Anderson Joined Brigham Young University in Idaho in 1993 and graduated with A.A.S. in Mass communication and broadcasting in 1997. He later enrolled in Southern Utah University where he graduated with a B.S. in Mass Communication and Broadcasting in 1999. While there, he was voted “Broadcaster Of The Year” by a Panel of four Professors, he also worked as a teaching assistant in the beginning TV production class.

Anderson is a Reporter and Multimedia Journalist working for KSL. The majority of Anderson’s stories are shot and edited by him, who frequently acts as his photographer. He spent several years working for KUTV before moving to KSL in April 2011. Before working at KUTV, he worked as a reporter at WTEV CBS 47 News from May 2004 to October 2005. During his time there, he reported on current issues that affect the city of Jacksonville, and surrounding areas.
He also gathered, wrote, and presented stories for two stations affiliated wot major national networks. Additionally, he established contacts with community leaders and law enforcement to develop story ideas, he did research multiple topics daily and simplified them for presentation on live television. At KOTA, the ABC station in Rapid City, South Dakota, he and his wife both worked as reporters and anchors. Mike spent several years in Florida working for stations in Jacksonville and Orlando before relocating his family to Utah.
Anderson worked as the station’s space reporter at WOFL, the FOX affiliate in Orlando. He frequently covered shuttle and rocket launches at Cape Canaveral’s Kennedy Space Center. Anderson, who is originally from Southern California, now calls Utah his home. The fact that his wife is from North Ogden means that they, their four children, and their extended families all live close together. He likes to play the guitar and do woodworking in his spare time when he’s not covering the news or spending time with his family.
