For 6 years Mikayla studied ASL in high school and wants to continue finding ways to learn and grow more and be the best friend she can be for the DoHH community. Mikayla is no stranger to Oklahoma weather. She previously worked at KXII in Sherman, TX where she forecasted for Texoma, covering both Oklahoma and Texas weather.
While at OU, she spent four years forecasting for OU Nightly, the student-run newscast. She was the Senior Weather Producer her senior year, and she was the Director of Outreach for the Oklahoma Weather Lab. Mikayla is also passionate about using ASL to communicate weather events to the DoHH community. She studied ASL for 6 years in high school and wants to continually find ways to learn and grow more to be the best ally she can be for the DoHH community.
During her leisure time, she like storm chasing, trying new restaurants across Green Country, reading good books, and enjoying time with her three dogs (Tex, Storm, and Sasha.
