It was on May 3rd during the record-setting tornado outbreak. The four different supercell thunderstorms produced over 20 tornadoes and Armstrong helped provide Oklahomans with the warning about them. The crippling ice storms in 2002 and 2007, Tropical Storm Erin in 200, as well as the May 2013 Tornado Outbreaks, are also his memorable storms.
Prior to joining the KOCO 5 storm tracker team, he worked at Mid America Christian University as an instructor for two years and five months. He also provided meteorological analysis as an expert witness serving as a forensic meteorologist.
