Prior to joining the FOX 2 Detroit news team, she worked at WEWS, the ABC Affiliate, in Cleveland Ohio. While there, she spent many days and nights reporting on the front lines of Imperial Avenue – the home of the so-called, “Cleveland Strangler,” a man convicted of killing almost a dozen women and hiding their bodies inside of his home.

During her time in Cleveland, Ohio, she covered for the king when he took his talents to South Beach and stood by as Clevelanders burned their No. 23 jerseys and dragged them behind their cars. While working for WEWS, she served as a Morning Anchor, Traffic Reporter, Breaking News Reporter, and General Assignment Reporter.

Her love and passion for journalism began at a very young age. She recalls watching the news with her family every night and thinking that’s going to be her someday. Her parents signed her up for every oratorical contest at school and church as soon as she learned to talk.

Her journalism career began before graduating from high school. At th age of 15, she was first seen on-air reporting and anchoring for “Brookwood Upclose,” a syndicated series focusing on local events and issues impacting Atlanta’s youth. When she was 16 years old, she won her first international journalism award for a documentary she did on a local shelter for troubled youth.

Upon college graduation, she landed her first on-air job at the NBC station WVVA where she traveled to the hills of West Virginia. During her time there, she did everything. She produced, reported, and anchored for her own newscast on the weekends and also reported during the week. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Throughout her career, she has interviewed several icons including Dr. Phil and Homer Hickam, former NASA engineer and inspiration for the 1999 film, “October Sky.” She also delivered live reports for MSNBC and local station WVVA and reported the nation’s best during the Virginia Tech massacre. Lue likes when she brings positive stories to the viewers.
