His love and passion for journalism began at a tender age in the 2nd Grade when he printed neighborhood newspapers using his mom’s typewriter. He always dreamed of working in Kansas City as a life-long Royals and Chiefs fan.
Stewart began his journalism career job in Omaha, Nebraska. While there, he worked as a photographer, editor, and reporter. From there, he headed to Sioux City, Iowa to work at KCAU Channel 9 as a reporter and anchor. In addition, he worked at KHGI in Kearney, Neb, and at WDTN-TV in Dayton, Ohio as a reporter and anchor.
Throughout his career, he reported on the Kansas City Royal’s magical ride in 2015 when they won the World Series and also traveled with the Kansas Jayhawks as they won the 2008 national championship. In addition to that, he spent a week at Parris Island, S.C. while following young Marines during boot camp.
During his leisure time, he likes being active and involved in the community. He serves as an emcee at several charitable organizations including the Orphan Justice Center, the Mid-America Asian Culture Association, the Johnson County Christmas Bureau, and Infant-Toddler Services of Johnson County. In addition to that, he emcees at MOKAN Suicide Awareness Survivor Support and Kansas Children’s Service League.
