Wilson has over two decades of experience in the news industry traveling the world and sharing the stories of the people of the Tampa Bay area. Prior to joining the FOX 13 News team, he worked at WNCN as a weekend anchor and regional correspondent for NBC News during several major hurricanes.
During his tenure at FOX 13, he has been honored for his reports from Ground Zero in New York, Hurricane Katrina. Later he earned an Emmy for his reports following a string of deadly tornadoes in Alabama. Not long ago he reported from the scene of the deadly Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. In 2005, his standout assignments came embedding with a group of U.S. Army Reservists. This was during the height of the war in Iraq. In addition to that, in 2011, he was invited to the White House for an exclusive interview with President Obama.
Apart from his career job, he likes being involved and active in his community. He works with several charities including The Wilson Family Foundation, Southeastern Guide Dogs, and March of Dimes. The Wilson Family Foundation is a non-profit that he started with his parents and brothers.
