He has been awarded the CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) designation by the American Meteorological Society. This is the highest mark of distinction and recognition available in broadcast meteorology.
Mark has been very active with the American Meteorological Society. He was a Board Chairman for the Board on Outreach and Pre-College Education from 2003 to 2004. He served as a member of the AMS Board on Outreach and Pre-College Education from 2001 to 2003. In 2005 he was an advisor to the AMS Board on Outreach and Pre-College Education.
Reynolds served on the American Red Cross of Washington County, Tennessee, Advisory Committee and he was also instrumental in starting the first and second Red Cross Health Fair in the Tri-Cities. For more than ten years he worked extensively with the March of Dimes. Over the last 30 years, he has presented thousands of school presentations throughout their community.
Mark’s career in broadcast has been over the southeast, with stops in Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee Florida. He has been honored with several awards, such as Best TV Weather Anchor by the Tennessee Associated Press in 2007 and Best Weathercast by the Tennessee Associated Press in 2000. He is an avid aviation enthusiast and enjoys the mountains and the beach.
