The storm nearly lifted their truck off the ground but they were close enough to feel the storm’s force. For them to proceed to a safe distance, they had to wait for the storm to pass across the interstate.
The storm did not hurt anyone, so they continued following it while broadcasting live from their vehicle. Fryklund says that storm chasing is a chance he takes to use his training to benefit the public in times of weather emergencies. People depend on local news coverage of storms to keep them safe.
During his leisure time, he likes camping and fishing with his family, as well as carpentry. He is also a licensed drone pilot. In addition, he is a member of Quail Springs Baptist Church. He teaches third-grade Sunday school and serves on the audio/visual team.
