He went to Western Illinois University where he attained his Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology. Baden serves as the chief meteorologist at WISN-TV based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is also working at Concordia University in Mequon where he teaches a meteorology course. Since starting his journalism career, he has covered several weather events including Interstate 43 closed due to four feet of water covering I-43 in Glendale.
He also enclosed two hurricanes and a police officer rescuing a pregnant mother and her child from a flooded car. In 2005, he enclosed Hurricane Rita in Beaumont, Texas as well as Hurricane Frances in 2004, from Cocoa Beach, Florida. In addition, he covered the destructive tornadoes in Utica, Hartford, and Kansas City, Mo. Prior to working at WISN-TV, he worked at a station in Des Moines, Iowa, Sioux City, Iowa, St. Louis, Missouri, and Columbia, Missouri.
Since starting his journalism career, he has won several awards including a local and regional Emmy and Wisconsin Broadcaster’s Association’s best weathercast award in 2009. He was also issued with a Meteorological Society’s seal of approval and the seal of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist.
