She joins the KFMB-TV team as an experienced broadcast journalist who has won 18 Emmy awards. Among these 18, she won 14 of them while working with CBS 8 News for her anchoring and reporting on a variety of stories which include the October 2007 and May 2015 wildfires.
She not only shares other people’s stories but also her own stories. Lee shared a story back in November 2019 of her family’s personal journey with Alzheimer’s Disease. Her mother was diagnosed with this disease in early 2019 and she admits that the family was in denial about the diagnosis for several months while reaching out for help and support.

Working against her better financial judgments, she decided to take a gamble and pursue her interest in journalism where she was earning $5 per hour. At this time, she was working with the WLNS-TV located in Lansing, Michigan where she was serving as a reporter/videographer. Later on, she went on to move to WBNS-TV located in Columbus, Ohio where she was privileged to receive her first Emmy award at the young age of only 23 years old.
After this, she made a jump to KCNC-TV located in Denver, Colorado where she was working as a reporter in the Mile High City. However, soon after her hometown came calling, she made a move to Detroit and joined WDIV-TV where she was working as an anchor and reporter.
She states that she never thought she would leave the Motor City until San Diego came calling. Additionally, she states that she could not resist the surf, the opportunity to work with a talented team of journalists. Through the years, she says she can’t imagine living or working anywhere else.
Among her most memorable experiences in Television News was traveling to Jordan for a cultural exchange assignment following the September 11th attacks. For her, this was an incredible experience to not only learn about the Middle Eastern culture but also to educate and enlighten viewers by helping to bridge the cultural gap during a volatile and extremely sensitive time.
She is a huge supporter of numerous organizations in San Diego which include Alzheimer’s San Diego and Girl Scouts San Diego. Additionally, she also supports other non-profit groups and often mentors high school and college students. Away from work, she enjoys exploring San Diego with her family and traveling.
