Mandy Noell Career

Noell is a news anchor for FOX 56 News from 5 to 9 a.m. She jumped at the opportunity to help establish a new station and new news culture in Lexington. Previously before moving to the Bluegrass, she worked as a morning anchor and reporter for a five-hour morning show for Nexstar’s sister station KARK in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Prior to moving to Little Rock, Mandy worked at another Nexstar station, WKBN-TV in Youngstown, Ohio as the main evening anchor for over three years. While working in Youngstown, she solo-anchored two Emmy award-winning newscasts and an Edward R. Murrow Award-winning newscast. The nationwide opioid crisis hit Youngstown particularly hard, and she hosted multiple live town hall events, joined by politicians, leaders, and members of the community working on the front lines of the epidemic.

Noell also put together a special broadcast celebrating the Women’s Suffrage movement. She also produced and wrote a documentary on a cold case 1994 double-murder involving two teen girls, Kathryn Menendez, and Sarah Boehm. She believes shining a light on murder victims and the missing is one of the most important parts of her job. Victims always deserve a voice, and the responsibility of journalists is to speak for those who can’t.

Before moving to Youngstown, She worked for nearly four years at WMBF News in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, doing many jobs in the newsroom. Her primary role was breaking news anchor and reporter. Being a lover of writing, Mandy also worked with the digital team producing web stories as well.

Mandy covered the 2015 thousand-year flooding event, the historic 2013 ice storm, the disappearance of Heather Elvis, multiple hurricanes, and reporting from waist-high water in her own neighborhood. She holds her journalistic ethics sacred and will always fight for integrity, accuracy, fairness, and justice. During her free time, when she’s not cheering on the Hokies and Pittsburgh sports teams, she’s often watching whatever sport is in season.

Being an outdoor enthusiast, Noell spends a lot of time in the Red River Gorge area. She loves hiking, kayaking, climbing, and trail running. She is also a major foodie and would love to have a taste of the best restaurants in the Bluegrass. When Noell is not trying new things, she is being bossed around by her two fluffy, sassy rescue pups, Bailey and Zoe, AKA the BowWowBrats.
