She won the coveted Emmy award for creating an inclusive on-air weathercast for the deaf. Not long ago she received the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Best Weather award. She is also the Best Use of New Media award for her Emmy-nominated online series “Lori’s Science Corner.” It was created in collaboration with the National Science Teaching Association. “Lori’s Hidden Michigan,” her original award-winning series spotlights the state’s little-known treasures.
Her career took her to work in Baltimore as a Chief Meteorologist. Prior to that, she worked as a national science correspondent in Pennsylvania, DC, and Ohio for the London-based network ITN.
During her leisure time, she likes lending her voice and time to numerous charities and causes, working tirelessly in her community, and renovating antique furniture. In addition to that, she is a Lector at church.
